I'm Anthony.
DaPenguin came later.
I'm a Marine veteran and cyclist based in Caldwell County, Kentucky.
I ride because I like riding. Pretty simple.
What started as miles close to home has grown into organized events, the Kentucky Cycling Challenge, cycling travel, and a lot more time thinking about bikes than is probably necessary.
No complaints.
I take the riding seriously.
I'm in my third consecutive year completing the Kentucky Cycling Challenge, a five-ride series requiring a century or metric century at each event.
I train consistently because those miles don't ride themselves.
My bike is a Lynskey titanium build. I made the fit decisions that mattered to me and let Lynskey handle the geometry — they know better than I do.
Knowing when to leave something alone is also a technical skill.
The bike travels too.
In April 2026, I took my first international cycling trip to Jamaica.
It was also the first time I'd left the United States without being on military orders.
Turns out international travel is different when nobody is issuing instructions.
I'd like to do more of it.
Why put it online?
Because I'm already doing the rides.
DaPenguin gives me somewhere to document the work, the events, the gear, the places the bike takes me, and the people I meet along the way.
If somebody gets something useful out of it, good.
If it makes somebody want to get on their own bike, even better.
